I saw the mix of good reviews and 'these don't work' reviews but because it was exactly what I wanted - physically small with a decent capacity I decided to risk getting one.
When it arrived I thought, 'this IS small.' It actually looks as if there couldn't possibly be 32GB of storage in it. And as it turned out...there wasn't. In fact there was none. It may as well have been a USB connector with a black plastic cap on the end and frankly I saw nothing that convinced me that it wan't exactly that.
It was detected by every computer I tried it in but none of them registered it as having any capactiy whatsoever. The best I could get was a message telling me to insert media...into a usb flash drive!
For those super-brains saying 'they just don't know how to format a drive'...I do. Nothing could write to this thing - windows or linux, fdisk or dd, not any of the dedicated flash drive partitioning/repair tools. These weren't write failures, they were ... 'write to what? There's nothing there.' failures.
Risk it if you want and I hope you get a working one but the amount of people saying the same thing on US amazon etc should make lexar seriously look a their quality control. I won't be getting another of these and I'll be avoiding their other products to boot. It's only got one star for the concept.
At least I got to see that Amazon returns policy and method was excellent - first time I've ever had to use it in many years of shopping.

I was beginning to run low on space on my Sony Vaio with a 128Gb internal SSD. It has 3 USB ports so I installed two of these tiny memory sticks and offloaded media onto one, and less frequently accessed work related files onto the other. The one containing work files is encrypted with BitLocker To Go, and both run quickly enough for this kind of 'offload' use (though I would not recommend them for anything intensive or high performance). The two mini drives stay there permanently and are small enough not to get in the way of anything. A lot less hassle than upgrading the internal drive.

Unfortunately I ignored the other reviews and purchased this flash drive and it arrived faulty. It's not detected by the computer. I tried it in two different machines with no luck so returned for a refund.

Bought it new and right from the box the drive was unusable.
