I spent a long time looking for this and was happy when it arrived I was happy with the quality (since it has to last 5 years) ...
Would have preferred a blank cover but thats hardly a complaint...

Lovely journal, I feel that it will last the whole 5 years. Something to bare in mind is that there isn't much space to write on each day, however this suits my journaling style.

Lovely paper for a fountain pen user 6 Feb. 2014
By James L. Webster - Published on Amazon.com

I've wanted to keep a diary all my life and had never heard of a multi-year approach like this until I was researching notebooks and papers that didn't bog down under ink.

The idea behind the book is a few lines from every day. Which is much less intimidating a daily/nightly task than trying to come up with what to write on a whole page.

At 80g/sqm, the paper takes ink nicely from all three of my Lamy Safaris, (F, M and B nibs) as well as my Pilot Kakuno. Pencil lays down nicely as well, with none of the high-pitched scritching that often accompanies a smooth, bond-finished paper.

It is expensive, but it will last the five years it will take to fill it in. Sewn binding and well-trimmed-out faux leather cover, along with a band to hold it shut and a green placemarking ribbon.

Cool idea and very nice product. Doesn't seem to like wet inks however. 2 May 2014

I was immediately drawn to the idea of a journal like this and finally got around to ordering one. The quality of the book is very nice. The cover is a little bit thinner than your typical moleskine journal, but still pretty stout. It has a green elastic band to keep it closed, a green ribbon bookmark, a pocket in the back of the binding, and some adhesive labels as well. The binding is thread bound and looks very well constructed. The sheets feel like nice quality paper however I did have problems with my daily use ink which is Noodler's Heart of Darkness. It bleeds through pretty badly which is a real bummer as it's my favorite. But it is a very wet ink so I guess you can't expect every journal to handle it well. Just be aware, if you are a Heart of Darkness user, or favor very wet inks, you may have trouble. I've switched to pencil for this one for now as I don't have any other inks around at the moment to try out. That little caveat aside, I'm very pleased with this product.

good but 21 April 2014

sturdy book, good quality, and i really like how there is a pocket in the back. Although my only complaint is that the pages are somewhat thin so you can see the writing from the previous page pretty prominently on the next. (using a regular black pen).

It's a great idea for a notebook 13 Oct. 2014

It's a great idea for a notebook. Unfortunately I haven't started it yet, because it's october, so I'd be wasting a ton of pages of year #1. So I'm waiting until january 1, 2015.

It has the same quality as other Leuchtturm products: the quality of the paper is fantastic, it is very well built and it just feels nice. It's an expensive product, but I think it's worth it.

I do think that the area to write for each year is a bit small, but it's expected, after all, they had to fit 5 days in each page (one for each year). All in all, it's a great idea and a great product, so I can't wait to start using it.
