I'm currently studying for my French GCSE and have found this revision guide very helpful. I'm studying with the AQA exam board but this book also covers all the material needed for OCR, EDEXCEL, WJEC and CCEA. This is edition is the newer of the two for sale on here. It is clearly divided into six main sections: Lifestyle and Health; Relationships and choices; Leisure, free time and the media; Holidays; Home, local area and environment; Education and work.
There are very helpful points for improving your grades in controlled assessments at the beginning of the book which have been extremely useful in the controlled assessments I have done. There are also some tips for the reading and listening exams. There are also sample controlled assessment questions and answers as well as practice listening and reading exercises. The CD that comes with it is really good for practising for the listening exam. There are also transcriptions of the listening activities on the CD at the back of the book.
All of the various tenses and grammar points needed for GCSE level are covered and clearly explained. There are vocab lists including everything you will need for the exams. There are good example sentences and phrases you can use too. There are frequent 'progress checks' that are handy for testing your knowledge after you finish reading a section.
The only thing that lets the product down is the price. It is cheaper on Amazon than any other shops I've been in that sell revision guides. It is naturally not suitable to be used without a textbook or any class work you may have done. It is an aid for revision and for clarifying any points you don't understand.

I bought this for my daughter to help with her revision studies , she has found it to be a great help with easy to understand sections and all logically following on from each other. All of the sections she has covered so far have related to the work she is doing at school and therfore very relevant, I would definitly recommend this to anyone studying GCSE .

helpful not not a necessity!
this book is pretty good for revision and has a lot in it but i found that half of the stuff i didnt have to know for my GCSE and wasnt really on the main syllabus. Read more
