Modern chamber music at its most uninteresting,
By A Customer
This review is from: Letters to the World - Chamber Music of George Nicholson (Audio CD)
There is an obvious influence from present day orchestral composers on display here including Harrison Birtwistle and Peter Maxwell Davis. There is also some references to 1950s/60s jazz here and there. Unfortunately however, the music just does not capture the imagination and it shows no originality in its composition. The music despite its complexity just does not stand out. It is however very well executed by the performers. Sorry but its just not worth the money.
