Very interesting book for anyone interested in art and in the work of Paul Cezanne. Alot of interesting details on his life and relationships with family members. Beautiful drawings and colourful watercolours of Paul Czanne. The letters are copies of letters he penned himself. Haven't finished the book yet but I am really enjoying it.

Excellently produced and illustrated; the translation sensibly follows the overall meaning of the French, rather than a verbatim word or phrase; both illustrations and notes are placed concurrent with the letters of that time which saves turning to the end of the book. t

the obsessed painter who changed the course of art, seen here through his letters which offer not only great insight, but a real glimpse into the real person through a kaleidoscope of friends.

I bought this for my husband because he is interested in Cezanne's work. However he found many of the letters to be rather underwhelming. However the letters he wrote towards the end of his life where he opens up about his art, are very interesting.
