Product Description

On holiday in romantic Verona, Sophie (Amanda Seyfried) explores the city alone as her fiancé (Gael Garcia Bernal) spends his time working. Mesmerized by the wall of letters in Juliet Capulet s Courtyard, she soon befriends the secretaries of Juliet, who diligently answer them every day. When Sophie finds a decades-old, unanswered letter, she responds herself. To her surprise the author, Claire (Vanessa Redgrave), and her uptight grandson (Christopher Egan) arrive and sweep her along on a romantic adventure she could never have imagined...

5.0 out of 5 stars italian dreams 1 Feb 2011

Sweet romantic movie with silent humour and charming actors, Vanessa Redgrave is spectacular in her grace and shows us that a real lady can look superb and loving despite wrinkles in her delicate face!So much better than the absurd lifted botox features of many celebrities!

Yesterday I was feeling a little under the weather so my friend kindly lent me this dvd. From start to finish it was such a lovely film, very well written and acted and left me with a warm fuzzy feeling : )

The film is based largely in Italy which is stunning and has made me want to go even more and New York. A lovely story which had my crying a few times too! Just what you need from a nice chick flick. Highly recommended to watch alone or with a group of girly friends.

5.0 out of 5 stars A LOVELY FILM FOR GIRLS OF ALL AGES! 18 Oct 2010
Format:DVD|Amazon Verified Purchase
Amanda Seyfried and Vanessa Redgrave have a magical quality about them that is absolutely essential in a film like this. All the male actors are also well cast, but it is very much a girls' film. It is a lovely romance for both the younger and the more mature lady, whose paths cross so beautifully in the story. Set in Tuscany, at the height of summer, what more could you wish for. The colour and music that infiltrates the scenes is so therapeutic that you want to be transported to this more gentle, everyday life.

4.0 out of 5 stars DVD Letters to Juliet
It's quite a predictable film and stolen by Vanessa Redgrave and the scenery. I haven't much to say about it. t makes you want to go there, but you watch it and it's gone.
