More About the Author

I was born in Cheshire but have spent my adult life in Leicester where I still live.
I've written well over 100 books for all ages and for both boys and girls.
Probably my best known titles include The Sleepover Club which was made into a long -running TV series, Titchywitch, a series for 5-6 year olds about a little witch (four new titles are currently being illustrated) and my scary series: The Creepies.
I still do a lot of school visits trying to enthuse children about reading and their own writing.
In 2011 I was shortlisted for The Roald Dahl Funny Prize with The Get Rich Quick Club and a second title The Get Rich Quick Club - Kerching is now in print.
I have a new series for 5 year olds (Sir Lancelittle) due soon and other work in the pipeline. A new website is also in the planning stage, until then you can contact me through my main publisher: Hachette Childrens' Books.

Book Description

Charlotte loves writing, and can copy beautifully. However she is too young to read, and that is how she comes to send her mother's shopping list to Father Christmas instead of her own letter.

This is a brilliant book I used it as my set text whilst on teaching practice it shows different genres of writing:- a letter, a list etc...and the children loved it.

My class of five year olds loved this story. The illustrations are lovely and the story provoked a lot of discussion-the children liked the idea of being able to give something at Christmas, rather than receiving!A Letter to Father Christmas (Orchard picturebooks)
