This book has 33 pages and is filled with bright, enticing illustrations that will definitely help to keep a child's attention when reading through it. The examples given flow from one to another and really do help to understand what energy is, where we get it from and how it can move from one object to another. At the back of the book are 2 experiments for kids to try so that they can put theory into practice. This is a Stage 2 book but inside the front cover they list scores of other books available in the "lets-read-and-find-out science" series which cover both Stage 1 and Stage 2. This is a great book for young children to be introduced to science in a fun way as they are able to read about it and then to try it out at the same time. My daughter is almost 6 years old and home schooled so I need books that are not intimidating for her but also for me! This one is great as it really does leave the child wanting to find out more and to enjoy science rather than dreading it.
