Most Helpful Customer Reviews

Format: Audio CD
A superb mix of slightly lo-fi, introspective and very honest songs along with more up-beat, simple but highly effective and catchy pop tunes from Norwegian minstrel, Thomas Hansen. St. Thomas has come a long way from the melancholic and heavily Neil Young influenced 'I'm Coming Home' (although that too is a very finely crafted record) but his friendship with French/Swedish indie masters of the infectious Euro-melody, Herman Dune, is clearly showing. I defy anyone to kick back on the patio with 'Come my Way' playing out of the window and not have the wonderfully simple yet immediately infectitious choral hook running around in their head for hours afterwards. A few Johnny Cash boom-chicka-boom rhythms here (St. Thomas spent a significant time in Nashville for previous record, 'Hey Harmony'), some crystal-clear female backing there, a few child-like organs and xylophone's wherever he fancies them, and St. Thomas rounds off another cracking record with his truly inimitable, semi-nonsensical, semi-profound lyrics. If you haven't discovered him yet, you could do worse than start here.
