I am pretty loyal to the "Let's Go" brand of guide books, and I was not let down by this one. From its little tips (like using computers at the National Gallery to customize a quick tour) to its hotel and restaurant recommendations, I really depended on this book for my recent week in London and was generally very pleased.
I especially try to visit the sights with "thumbs up" from the editors, and it was always dead-on about the best museums, sights, and restaurants to visit. For the pubs, I really appreciated the history that the book gave about some of the older pubs, such as famous authors who used to frequent them. You might hear about great pubs to visit, but Let's Go really gives you the background of each place.
The one complaint I have about Let's Go London is that in some of the heavily touristy areas, the book doesn't give recommendations that are close enough to the sights. We'd be at a sight and would look up a restaurant that sounded really good, only to find that it was over a mile away (although technically in the same borough). This would be a problem on the days when we had a limited amount of time.
The information provided in the book was generally accurate, although as with any travel book, the prices listed are usually outdated as soon as the book is printed.
Thanks, Let's Go, for another awesome European vacation!
