This remarkable performer, with a serene singing style, became one of America's biggest stars during the 1950s and 1960s. When his TV series was broadcast in 1950s America, he still faced considerable hostility from the entertainment industry due to his Afro-American background; together with Sammy Davis Jr he helped to break down racial barriers and forge the way for other entertainers. The title track sets the mood perfectly, while Nat also gives his superlative best to such standards as Hoagy Carnichael's "Stardust", Cole Porter's "Just One Of Those Things" and Ray Noble's "The Very Thought Of You". There's a liberal mix of film and musical songs, including "Around The World", "On The Street Where You Live" from My Fair Lady, "Almost Like Being In Love" from Brigadoon and the song that is most often associated with Nat King Cole: "When I Fall In Love" from the 1957 film Industrial, which featured Cole himself. --F.B.Hawkes

Whether you are 27 or 87, both Nat's seamless voice and his interpretations of these romantic, evocative, and classic songs will get you where all good music should-right in the heart. From the upbeat "Ain't Misbehaving" to the the yearning and sadness of "There Goes My Heart", the listener of this CD will find a song for every mood, and new moods for every song they have the pleasure to hear.
