NOT FOR THE BEGINNER, 24 April 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Let's Dance!: Learn to Swing, Jitterbug, Rumba, Tango, Line Dance, Lambada, Cha-Cha, Waltz, Two-Step, Foxtrot and Salsa with Style, Grace and Ease (Hardcover)
THIS BOOK ADVERTISED 1300 FULL COLOR ILLUSTRATIONS AND DIAGRAMS. FOOT PATTERNS ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IN TEACHING SOMEONE TO DANCE THIS BOOK HAS ONLY ABOUT ONE DOZEN (12) DIAGRAMS AND IS MISLEADING. IF YOU LIKE TO LOOK AT PHOTOS OF DANCERS IT IS GREAT BUT TO MUCH READING AND WAY TO CONFUSING FOR A DANCER SUCH AS MYSELF WHO HAS HAD ABOUT 40 HOURS OF LESSONS. I FEEL THIS BOOK IS FOR AN ADVANCED DANCER ONLY. TOM BEHNEY

If you ever want to dance, this is the book to study. Its numerous photographs, its footprint diagrams, and its easy reading text makes learning to dance, actually enjoyable. Put on a CD playing the music that matches what you're reading, and you can actully visualize yourself making all the steps. All I need now is some practice, a good dance floor, and a good partner.

An absolutely beautiful book on the art of dancing!, 14 Mar 1999

This review is from: Let's Dance!: Learn to Swing, Jitterbug, Rumba, Tango, Line Dance, Lambada, Cha-Cha, Waltz, Two-Step, Foxtrot and Salsa with Style, Grace and Ease (Hardcover)
Many dance books are so boring and flat that if you were an alien from another universe you would never guess that dancing is one of the most exhilrating ways to express who we are or dream of being. But this book changes that. It is chock full of interesting facts about each dance and of beautiful, color pictures depicting the steps and patterns. This book will be an inspiration to any one who has ever dreamed of expressing themselves through the art of dance!
