The drives and walks in the guide are very detailed and full of interesting and useful information regarding the landscape, buildings, where to stop for picnics and good swimming spots. Even without a car you will be able to get to Mytilene, the capital, by bus and do the Mytilene town walk and some of the museums. We did car tours 2 and 4 and enjoyed them both immensely. Skala Simanimias was particularly charming.
The walks using 'kalderimi' (old donkey paths) are especially atmospheric. AS usual the guide is very reliable.

This is a onestop point of interest book. It has given me a lot of ideas and helped me plan for my trip there. This will be my first visit to the Island and I am hireing a car and I enjoy walking so I will be off as soon as I have landed.

With the help of this guidebook we visited Lesvos arround 2009 New Year Eve. It's not the most popular date for visiting a Greek Island but it's worth visiting it out of season. This guidebook helped us a lot preparing the trip at home and then following the walks once we arrived in Lesvos. Great walks arround Agiassos, some of then quite strenous hikes in knee deep snow up to Mt. Olympos (I supose the are easier out of witer), and some other very pleasant walks through "kalderimis" among olive trees and "tavernas". Not to be missed the hot springs arround the island, well described in this book, specialy the one by the beach in Eftalou, perfect combination of hot spring water and cold winter sea water. In summary, very useful guidebook for walking in this cosy island.

A beautifully illustrated book which shows you all the top sites.

A great place to visit, we went to Anaxos, lovely and quiet and relaxing.

Island and book highly recommended.
