Product Description

The Los Angeles based rock group, Lesser Key, represents an exploration into personal and artistic freedom. The group created their debut with producer Sylvia Massy (System of a Down, Tool, Johnny Cash). Lesser Key, states: Having Paul D'Amour join us on bass is a real pleasure. We all loved the work he did on the first few TOOL albums. I think first and foremost we give our best effort to create something that excites us.. the intention is to stir things up a bit. We'd rather try to present something in the most honest way possible so that people can come to their own thoughts and feelings. Hopefully both the listener and us walk away more aware from the art. Lesser Key are: Paul DAmour - Bass (Tool) Andrew Zamudio - Vocals Brett Fanger - Guitar Justin Hanson - Drums

Solid 31 May 2014

As much as Sumerian is (naturally) pushing the Tool connection the more accurate comparisons would be A Perfect Circle or Karnivool. Anyway, it's a solid outing and I look forward to a full length.

Wish it was a full album 18 Aug. 2014

This EP is excellent. The bassist played on the first Tool album, so the band has some pedigree. The music rides the line between mellow and aggressive without ever veering too far in either direction. It sounds like a mix between A Perfect Circle and Deftones. That's really all you need to know so determine whether or not you want to pick this up. If you're like me, though, you'll definitely want to.
Excellent Album from Lesser Key 1 Nov. 2014
By Scott D. Vogler - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
A lot of comparisons are made between this band and popular rock bands like A Perfect Circle and the Deftones. I think those comparisons are fair but a lot of people have said this is a turn off for them but for me it is a good thing. It's a style of rock not owned by anyone at all and I think it's awesome there are several bands choosing this route. I have always enjoyed bands like Tool, A Perfect Circle, Faith No More, and others and I can appreciate them all both as a genre and as individual bands.

Lesser Key is an impressive EP and for me it packs a really good punch for the price. The music performed is crisp and thematic providing plenty of special musical moments if you're into this sort of rock music. The singing is performed in much the same vain as Maynard James Keenan. Aggressive but also soft spoken and I feel this singer holds his own as does the rest of the band.

If you enjoy the bands mentioned here you will probably enjoy this album. My only real criticism is that they didn't get even close to me when they went on tour. That is a compliment by all means.

Every song on this LP is outstaning. Hope this band does a follow up. Outstanding! Highly recommend to anyone who likes this genre.
my favorite new band 15 May 2014

Very, understandably, tool/perfect circle-esque. Great music and lyrics, musicianship, & singing. Only thing wrong with it is I need more songs.
