Format:Paperback
Denis Serignac, the adopted son of a French catholic couple, discovers on his 20th birthday that he was given up by his Jewish parents who did not want him to suffer anti-semitism as a Jew. The whole novel revolves around his attempts to come to terms with this and to establish his identity, and the ramifications this has on his adoptive family and his own son, Denis le petit.

Interesting if not entirely plausible in terms of the characterisation and certain episodes within the novel.
