Product Description

Product Description

Told in two books, Leprechauns in Latin America and Leprechauns in Alaska, Adventures in Yellow is a heart-warming, humorous, and poignant account of an epic 15 month, 35,500-mile, journey through the Americas along the Pan American Highway.

Leprechauns in Latin America relates the South American leg of Norman and Maggie Magowan’s astonishing journey. It begins chasing volcanoes in Chile down to the end of the world, where accident and misfortune dog the early days of the trip.

These episodes ultimately turn to advantage and triumph as the metronome to this fantastic adventure is set. The duo readily yield to the torpid tango wonderland that is Argentina, where all sense of time and schedule are quickly abandoned.

Riding across the Altiplano, the pace is enlivened by their flight from strike-ravaged La Paz. Relief from the madness of Bolivia proves to be short lived when they run headlong into a real-life lynch-mob up on the shores of Lake Titicaca.

The rich tapestry of this South American sojourn is stitched with fabled romances involving a little Cowboy, the miracles of an un-sainted desert heroine and a ghastly murder in the Galapagos.

Absolutely Excellent 12 Aug 2011
Format:Paperback
This is an excellent book. I am no biker yet the book was still a fantastic read. Norman has managed to produce a really interesting book with a good good dose of humour and just the right amount of history/facts regading the places they visit. A really good book that, on completion sent me straight to his second book - a follow on from this one, Leprechauns in Alaska, which was equally as good.
highly recommend this book - it was fab!!!!

A good read full of bikers stuff, history and facts about the countries travelled. This is not just a bikers book it is a book that will raise more questions than it answers - particularly personal ones

A superb read! 22 Aug 2011

What a brilliant book!

I can't recommend it highly enough - it's a long time since I have enjoyed a book so much. It is beautifully written with the author managing to bring his trip to life through his wonderfully descriptive narrative and easy-reading style. I almost feel as though I was on the journey with them. It is heart-warming, funny and inspiring. I suggest that you buy it now and settle down for an amazing journey through South America ... I cant wait to get the next book and experience the joys of Alaska! Thank you to the author for sharing his experiences with the world!
