'Leo's Room' nurtured my mind like a dry, yet fruity champagne would nurture my body. It made me giddy with feelings of well-being. Martin Rodriguez performed as Leo and did so ever so languishly and lovable. I found it not hard to fall in love with character Leo. And I found myself wishing he would - even so languishly and tenderly - start up a relationship with his new found lover Seba. But that's ME talking. Leo turned out not to be ready for any gay commitment at all. Hence his philanderings with girlfriend Caro and trips to the shrink. He had to find his own way out of the closet. At the end, when Leo drives through rural countryside in his brother's car - only to get his head together after he'd managed to deal with his mental turmoil - and lights up a contented smile, I realised Leo was beginning to grasp the fact that adult relationships and/or sexual encounters were not limited to female partners only. Just by a very subtle change in Leo's facial expression, Martin Rodriguez told his audience Leo had just found a new world opening up. And that goes to show what a great actor this Martin really is. Overnight, he became one of my favourites!
