By Roroblu's Mum TOP 500 REVIEWER VINE VOICE
Format:Paperback
Drake & Saria's tale was a wonderful read, possibly because Drake had been due his own tale for ages - he's one of the strongest, most deserving characters of the series. This one follows the same family, as Remy is Saria's brother, and his female lead, Bijou/Blue is Saria's friend.

Whilst the book did have an actual storyline going on, a lot of it was the same thing: female Leopard going into heat/female Leopard's skin feeling itchy/ weirdly, female Leopard not noticing her extended-then-retracted claws, despite not knowing she's anything other than human/female Leopard being the (standard) hussy/the arrival of the Han Vol Dan/mention that all male Leopards around will be forced into a frenzy of heat unless she's claimed (there were no males who even got a chance to be tempted in this tale, as R got in there pretty quick)...which got a bit tiring. It's exactly the same in each tale, even down to the hussy; clearly CF's writing to a formula like in the Dark and Ghostwalker series (luckily the Leopard tales have no chanting or creed!), which I stopped reading a while back as they were getting so same-same.

What's a bit weird is that the tale doesn't really follow the blurb on the back cover - there was no luring of R, as he went after B/B without giving her any choice in the matter ('cos, you know, he was a Leopard male and therefore knew best, so he had to save her from herself, and save other males too). There was no twilight night after night, nor was there anything bathed in red neon. B/B was not a sultry, mysterious female as seductive as her songs (we only get one two-line mention of her actually singing in her club that's mentioned a great deal), as R had known her all of her life, and, she was totally innocent and without a clue that he fancied her.

3.0 out of 5 stars Back to usual form 4 Jun. 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Christine Feehan is like a box of your favourite chocolates - sweet, a guilty pleasure and you know what you are getting before you open the box. You rely on an entertaining story where everything turns out OK in the end and you get to see some favourite characters from previous books

With this in mind, Leopard's Prey doesn't disappoint and it is a welcome return to form after Dark Storm (which for me was a poor unbelievable story - and that is saying much bearing in mind these books are fantasy).

Why the 3 star rating? Firstly other of Christine's books are better stories. However, more importantly judged against better fantasy authors, I'm afraid Christine will never reach a five star (which I reserve for truly outstanding fantasy books such as Lord of the Rings).

That said, it is worth reading and there are times when after a hard day all you want is to curl up with a box of chocolates and an entertaining undemanding read. If that is what you want, the book is a 5 star!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but predictable 22 Oct. 2013

Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is a good story, the romance and storyline between remy and bijou is hot and well written, all the characters are well rounded and loveable. It is everything you expect from a CF novel, the only fault I have with the story is that it is predictable, I guessed who the bad guy was at the beginning and this is why i have given 4*. I think more interaction between remy and other characters in the book would have made it a brilliant read instead the only characters remy had interaction with was bijou band gage, whom we will probably see in the next book.

5.0 out of 5 stars A must for Christine Feehan fans 18 Sept. 2013
Format:Kindle Edition
I had been looking forward to the two releases by Christine Feehan (Leopard People and Dark Series) as always but as is my usual I was looking forward to the Dark release more. So whilst waiting for Dark Lycan to be released I bought this and started reading it, knowing I would enjoy it but in the back of my mind thinking of Dark Lycan. Well that only last a few chapters and then I was truely swept up into the story! I read the book in three days flat using bit of 'me' time to read some more. This had everything I love in my light entertainment books; action, suspense, paranormal fantasy and romance. The story had me swept up and whilst she does point to the 'perp(s)' a little too easy I still enjoyed finding out when the penny drops with the main characters.

This story is about Remy and follows on smoothly from book 5 and is a story both romantic and with danger. Remy is certainly a forceful man to be wary of and yet he is a protector. Read more
