I press and hold power button. Select switch off and that does it. Never had it waken up but then I don't often switch it totally off. Hope this helps.

Initial charge time is not particularly long as the battery is partly charged, although you probably want to allow 6 or so hours to ensure a very full initial charge. It is worth downloading the userguide from Lenovo's website, as this will provide you with other useful tips. http://download.lenovo.com/consumer/mobiles_pub/ideatab_s6000_ug/data/EN/index.html

Simple answer is yes. Finding a download is a bigger problem. But hidden in the Adobe archives you can still find 10.3 - 11. 1 versions. Note: They won't solve the BBC problem though. You need to get the BBC Iplayer & BBC media player. All three run on my S6000 4.2.2

You can't install Microsoft on this tablet but there is an equivalent to Word already installed and loads of Office style Apps available. These Apps will allow you to open any Microsoft Word, Excel or Powerpoint document. So the answer is that you can work as well as play but if you are going to be writing War & Peace you might want to get a proper keyboard rather than typing on glass.
