Lenovo C320 20 inch Multi Touch All-in-One Desktop PC (Intel Core i3-2120, RAM 4GB,HDD 500GB, DVDR, Windows 7 Home Premium) - Black

Let me first deal with delivery from Amazon. As Father Christmas did not bring me a new computer I had to get my own and (having done considerable research) ordered the Lenovo C320 from Amazon on Boxing Day (26th December). I took advantage of Amazon's Free Delivery and it arrived at 9.30 am on 29th December! Very impressive, particularly bearing in mind this was the holiday season.

The product itself is just great. I've only had it a few days but it is doing all I want from a computer. It was easy to set up and connected to the Internet via WiFi with no bother. (no more Ethernet cables). Talking of cables, the lack of them is incredible - just one power cable for everything. Instead of a damn great tower, separate monitor, separate speakers etc everything thing is incorporated into the all in one unit. The amount of space I have created on my desk is amazing - I wish I had taken "before" and "after" pictures but I didn't. The only downside on the cable front is that the supplied keyboard and mouse are wired and take up two USB ports. I quickly cured this by buying a Logitech MK320 wireless keyboard and mouse combo which uses only one USB. (I got this from PC World which is a company I do not particularly like but they had an half price offer on which meant I got it for £17.49 whereas the cheapest price on Amazon was £24.99)

The Windows Experience Index figure is 3.9 and this is down to the graphics which are integrated. The other scores are:-

I suppose the memory figure would be improved by the installation of more RAM (the C320 comes with 4Gb). As the system comes preloaded with the 64 bit version of Windows 7 Home Premium it will recognise up to 8 Gb of RAM and this can be had from Crucial Memory for less than £30. It's easily fitted in much the same way as adding RAM to a laptop (take off the plate at the back, pop in the RAM, replace plate and away you go).

The touch screen seems to work OK but will only come into its own when Windows 8 is released later this year.

To help in transfering all my programs, data, settings etc I bought Laplink's PC Mover Pro but this turned out to be a complete waste of money; thank goodness I only paid £9.95 for it! It promised to transfer just about everything including programs without the necessity of having to dig out the original installation CDs and serial numbers. I decided to use my LAN to do the transfer which meant I couldn't use either PC for something like 10 hours. With 32 minutes to go Laplink then told me there was a problem and the transfer had failed. I tried again but encountered the same problem so gave up. I have managed to find most of the original CDs so have simply reinstalled them and transfered the data over my LAN. The only CDs I can't find are for MS Office so have downloaded OpenOffice which is working just fine. Moral of the story: don't use Laplink!

All in all I am pleased with this piece of kit. I suppose the integrated graphics let it down but having said that the picture quality is quite acceptable. There is a demo HD video included and this looks just stunning on the screen. I was dubious about the built in speakers but the sound quality is remarkably good, so much so that I will not be using my separate speakers, thus saving on yet more clutter.

After an inauspicious start (the courier company left the PC outside our home in the rain) things have turned out ok. Amazon were fantastic, no fuss a straight replacement dispatched a couple of days later. Now onto the PC. It is everything I'd hoped for and extremely easy to set up (out of the box, connected to our our wireless network, 4 user accounts set up and my 9 year old playing "angry birds" within 20 minutes). I've not tried anything too intensive yet but have played dvd's, loaded photo's and streamed video and I have to say I'm very impressed with the quality of the sound, graphics and monitor picture quality. I use the latest Macbook Pro which has an i5 processor and this PC is every bit as responsive. The build quality is also very good and the touch screen is just the icing on the cake. This is the first all in one PC I have used and I was a little concerned that we may have to take a hit on performance given the squeeze of all the parts into a monitor, again very pleasantly surprised. In my experience PC's take a number of months to bed down and rating their performance when just out of the box can be mis-leading but this PC is everything I'd hoped for and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to a friend.

I had been browsing all-in-one pcs for a while, not intended to buy one just yet but my laptop was playing up and that was the excuse I had been waiting for. I wanted one to keep in the kitchen to use as a media centre/browser and TV so I could play whilst cooking dinner etc, but be able to take it to the table to do serious work. I didn't want to replace the laptop because I was fed up using a laptop screen. Also, needed a PC the kids can use. The PC we have already stores the files and programs for our business and I don't use it directly because my husband dials into it during the day. This leaves the new PC available for the kids so they can't accidently wreck the business PC.

It is a great spec for the price. My model didn't come with a built-in tuner but I can add a USB tuner for little cost. It looks great, the screen is easy on the eyes, it joined our home network straight away. Its quick and smooth and so far has handled my old programs without any fuss. It is easy enough to unplug and move to my table. One small niggle, and it is probably to keep the cost down, is the wired keyboard and mouse. I am a touch typist and I quite like the keyboard which is unusual. But since a feature of an all-in-one is the lack of cables, I am surprised that a wireless keyboard and mouse are not supplied. I am not complaining because I will happily buy my own set and when I have swapped them for wireless this will make transporting from table to kitchen a doddle.

The touch screen is super fun. I have a smartphone and this is pretty much the same. There isn't a lot of software out there yet to download but it is nice to be able to open and close programs, zoom in and out and everthing else you use your mouse for, with just your fingers. Lenova have factory installed software to play with too. There is an interface to play music, videos, photos, ebook reader and of course games, including Angry Birds!! Yes, huge Angry Birds - great fun. My 6 year old boy and my 2 year old girl who play it on my smartphone were beside themselves when they saw a 20" screen version of it. There is a built in webcam and a motion sensor game to go with it, something for the kids.

The sound quality of the built in speakers is quite fantastic. I never expect a lot from built in speakers, but so long as they function and don't make you cringe when you play a CD for a bit of background entertainment in the kitchen I would have been happy. Even when another reviewer said they were pleased I still didn't raise my expectations. But the speakers really do sound good.

The next big plus is the monitor itself. It comes on a stand which can be tilted to suit the user. Most all in one touchscreens come with a stand like a photo frame. It sits in one position and that is it. In fact this is one of the reasons I hadn't bought one before. It really is no bigger overall than a TV screen even though it has all that extra hardware inside.

There are 6 USB ports, a card reader, DVD burner, ethernet, mic and headphone sockets. I don't have any VGA or HDMI/DV ports but I can live without these for the price I paid. I don't honestly think I would use them anyhow. We don't want to plug in any games consoles or other stuff so fine for us.

I didn't realise, so you may not either, that the power cable is in fact an adapter/transformer like you have with a laptop and not a kettle lead. I am sure this is not important but sometimes its just nice to know.

I have only had the PC for one week and so far, so great! I am really pleased with all of it. I don't feel I have had to compromise between specification and price. The PC works for me, my work and for the kids. When I have added a TV Tuner and wireless keyboard/mouse all of my boxes will have been ticked and that doesn't happen very often for me.
