Format:DVD
I saw Lenny Henry perform this very show when he came to Manchester as part of the tour. He was brilliant. He had the entire audience roaring with laughter, with everything from simple school-boy jokes to clever ironic comments(mostly attacking George W Bush).
He starts off with a few gags,then moves on to comic monologues,by the end he has so many characters that they all end up interacting as he brings the show to an end(a 1 man show with many characters).
The great thing about it is that having spent many years doing stand-up he has realised that the audience dont always have to be laughing and that through irony and subtlety he can give a message to his audience that they will remember long after they have forgotten all of the jokes.

I bought this DVD after reminiscing with my friends about the Lenny Henry show that used to be shown on BBC1. Initially I was looking forward to the spectacle as it was a fairly long comedy show as far as comics usually go. Some of the jokes in this show were truly hilarious, but I felt that Lenny's Character sketches weren't want I remembered, maybe because the way he tells a story through his characters is quite unusual.
Lenny takes serious issues, such as religion, terrorism, crime and love and tells them through character that you could meet in real life. Nothing is over exaggerated, just told how it is. It takes getting used to, but works fairly well.
However, on my second viewing of this DVD, after a knew how the story was going to be told, I was more open minded to the jokes. This time it was the Lenny I remembered.
If you find yourself losing interest, take a break, and then watch again... it worked for me.

I saw Lenny Henry in Sydney and he was so good, I couldn't possibly have left the venue without buying this DVD, and it certainly doesn't disappoint. The topical stuff had been up-dated by the time he got to Sydney and even though it was the same tour, I really feel like I'm watching an entirely different show which, to me, shows just how good Lenny really is. The monologues and characters are as hilarious as ever and this is definitely a must for all you Lenny Henry fans. This is, without doubt, one of the funniest shows I've seen in years.

Not a great show
I've seen many Lenny Henry shows in the past and own a few videos. To be frank this is rubbish compared to the rest. Read more
