Book Description

11 Mar 2002 In Their Own Words
Lemmy, the Godfather of Speed Metal, has never shied away from expressing himself. In a career that began in Blackpool with the now long forgotten Rockin' Vickers and included a stint with Hawkwind before forming his own Motorhead, the sometimes less than handsome bassist has never shied away from controversy. Here's Lemmy's views on anything and his own words.

Product Description

'Few musicians have the gift for exquisitely acidic soundbites as much as the erstwhile Ian Kilminster, whose sharp tongue is encapsulated here with considerable scope. The wit and wisdom of Britain's most revered (and lavishly be-moled) rocker makes for a highly amusing read...a simple, effective concept.' RECORD COLLECTOR

5.0 out of 5 stars Indeed - In his own words. 29 Oct 2006
Combed from reams of music papers and magazines and catalogued under specific headings, this is a great read for everyone wishing to indulge in Lemmy's wonderfully honest and stripped-to-the-bone view on almost everything. And you can't knock his opinions, very close to if not exactly on-the-mark as they are; I wish this book had been there when I was 16, my life would have changed much for the better.

5.0 out of 5 stars A moving and profound piece of literature 20 May 2002
Lemmy has a profound insight into the human condition. His judgements are never very far off the mark. He was a roady for Hendrix. He carries the mark of pride of having been kicked out of Hawkwind. He has a dry and sardonic wit. All young people should listen to Lemmy and learn from his wisdom and experience.
