I had my reservations about this listing but after my first punch I was pleasantly suprised. I was initially looking for a more light weight, general use 'always on me ready to go' hole punch for all office environments and weather conditions in the field but after asking around and doing a bit of online research I narrowed it down to this one.
Why the Leitz 5008? Well, first of all, the holes that the punch produces are suprisingly neat, accurate and have maintained their circumference even after penetrating what I've calculated to have been no less than 3000 different documents with a delicate, creaseless sear. This must be due largely to the 'hardened cutters' noted in the product's specification, if Leitz have patented this technology they are sitting on a potential gold mine.
Secondly it is robust enough to handle the force of my palm, the action is still soft, comfortable and responsive.

After my last hole punch broke I decided to invest in a better product; this one feels like it is going to last for ever, very good quality!

Very please with the punch, much more substantial than the previous 'bent tin' one I was using. As received it was set up for using one's left hand but I wanted it the other way round and found I could change it i.e. put the paper guide on the other side. A little fiddly to do, not a problem. The main problem with my old punch was that it kept 'leaking' the paper cutouts. So far this one hasn't! Recommended!

hole cutter
Solid compact cutter. Nice clear holes cut made with hardened cutter. Measure to pull out. Smart and I would imagine durable.

Punches holes like any other punch, but what makes it stand out is the slide guide which helps punch holes at the right positions.
