This guide gives a good overview of the Peak District. really liked the features of different circular walks, drives or cycle routes that you could do in each area (with recommended places to eat, see etc).
Gives quite a lot of detail on each area and has nice 'end of chapter' suggestions of highlights for particular areas with places to see, eat, thins to do and events in the year.
Only criticism would be that it is not really critical of any area, so we did waste a couple of trips going to see towns that weren't really worth it (and seemed to give equal weighting to some areas that were far more interesting/ beauitful/ unusual) whereas another travel guide (like rough guides) actually gives more of a critique of an area which is a bit more useful if you are on a tight timescale as we were.
Esp. highlights, Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Castleton (and mines) and Bakewell (which is beautiful)

Excellent ! 2 Mar 2009
Format:Spiral-bound
We bought this book as, although we go to the Peak District at least twice a year walking, we haven't really visited the usual places people would probably go to. As we are taking our parents next time, and they are not up to walking miles over peaks and down dales, we thought this book would be useful as a starting point. It has surprised us just how much there is to see and because of the way the book is laid out it is very simple to find things.
We would highly recommend this book - we even bought another copy so that our parents could have a copy themselves !
