It's a good intro to Northumberland but if you are a dog owner it gives you no guidance on the welcome they'll receive.

For info - the beaches in Northumberland are open all year to dogs. Housesteads (at Hadrian's Wall) and Lindisfarne welcome dogs even amongst the ruins. Alnwick doesn't even allow them in the grounds neither does Vindolanda (part of Hadrian's wall)

Another excellent travel book giving information on places to visit, car tours (cycles rides if you prefer, and also a selection of walks varying in length. In the route facts it gives the distance/time anticipated, starting point/finishing point for refreshments etc, terrain and which OS maps to be used in conjunction with.

Straight forward. Easy to use. Just used the coast section but found everything as described. Would recommend it to anyone going to Northumbria for the first time.
