Product Description

Leifheit Rechargable Streak-free Window Vacuum Cleaner - drying windows made easy

Moping up condensation, and cleaning windows, is simplified using the Leifheit Window Vac. With its extra-long battery life more windows may be dried in one go.

Streak-free cleaning

This handy Leifheit Window Vac removes water, plus dirt and cleaning agent residues from the window after soaping and washing them. It does all this without leaving any stripes at all! The water is quite simply vacuumed off the window without wiping down afterwards.

Power saving

Owing to the ingenious automatic standby mode, the window vacuum cleaner automatically enters the energy saving mode when it is not in use – this ensures particularly long durability of the rechargeable battery. Not only can windows be vacuumed reliably – the Leifheit window vacuum cleaner can also be used for cleaning mirrors, tiles or shower cabins without leaving any stripes behind or dripping water on the floor.

All Angles

A useful feature of the Leifheit Vac is its versatility - able to be used at different angles without leaking. Large windowsills can make it impossible to vacuum all the way to the bottom of the window keeping the Vac upright but with the Leifheit Vac this is not a problem as the lower part of the window may be dried with the vac on its side or upside down. This is also important when cleaning sky lights and conservatory glass. When the cleaning is over, the water chamber is easily emptied. The Vac comes apart for cleaning and the inside of the tank can also be cleaned to remove any dirt or soap residue.

Clever click-system accessories:- telescopic handle extensions and window washers

The Window Vac can be combined with Leifheit's click-system telescopic handles for reaching higher windows. Therefore, conservatories or sky lights can also be cleaned without streaks and drips. These optional handles are available on Amazon. The "click-system" handles fit easily into the Vac and are part of an extensive range of interchangeable window cleaning tools from Leifheit.

Leifheit telescopic handles and window washers available as accessories

Full range of optional accessories using the "click system" connection available from Amazon.

This vacuum assisted squeegee means that one need never worry about the soapy water from the indoors surface of the window getting onto the nice paint and/or wood or carpet below. And best of all it gives results almost as good as those from a proper professional squeegee.

It's bulk and weight make it much more cumbersome to use than a normal well-balanced professional squeegee, but this awkwardness is cancelled out by the lack of any drips (so long as the vacuum is still sucking) and only the tiniest traces of wet residue remain on the glass at the end of a sweep when the blade is lifted away, and these few small drops are easily mopped up with a clean paper kitchen towel.

The first time of use, I was expecting the reservoir to fill up with dirty window fluid which would be sucked into the vacuum fan, but after cleaning twenty square metres of glass and mirror, there were only a couple of tablespoons of liquid in it, and nothing escaped the machine. We now regularly clean the inside windows and mirrors with it. I still use the more easily manoeuvred standard squeegee for outside glass (the inevitable rain makes far more mess) and in the shower (it is designed for water on the floor).

Cleaning with it is easy so long as one remembers to leave the vacuum running all the time. Wash and wipe one window at a time, making sure to not let it dry off before wiping. Don't be tempted to save the battery; otherwise water trapped in the channel of the blade can fall out the low end if the blade is tipped sideways. It also helps to regularly wipe clean the blade to prevent a trapped grease spot transferring to a streak on the next sweep.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
The Leifheit Window Vacuum Cleaner is a competent competitor to its main rival - the more industrial looking Karcher WV series. Essentially very similar in concept and design (some might argue a straight copy?)the Leifheit has proved a joy to use on large window panes both inside and out but because of the size of the blade, it's not suitable for smaller panes of glass nor windows with arches. It will never replace a good old cloth cleaning system but for anyone with large panes of glass, it vacuums excess water away leaving a largely streak-free finish. I have used my neighbour's Karcher WV for comparison and the results are remarkably similar though I would award the Karcher 1/2* more because it comes with a large blade and a smaller one; this smaller one still doesn't cope with the smallest of panes but gives the Karcher the edge in flexibility. why 4* for the Leifheit - well it runs out of battery power before I can do the whole house - average sized semi.

I have been thinking of trying a window vacuum for a while but only ever seen the Karcher ones and £60-80 was a lot for something that might be a waste of time/money ... This popped up in the boxing day lightning sales and at less than £35 with reasonable reviews I thought it was worth a try.
Arrived earlier than I was expecting on New years Eve...it was already partly charged, put it on to fully charge when I came to check (an hourish later) it was already fully charged ready for use.
Not really planning on cleaning my windows then but thought I'd try it out on my bedroom window ...in fact I did all the windows upstairs inside and out ...and the bathroom mirror and shower screen...yes I liked it that much! Would actually have done all of them if they didn't have Christmas lights on them!
My windows are double glazed mostly 1m by 1m, some of these in pairs - a couple of 0.5 by 0.5, various others and a front door and hall that is made up of strips of glass from 15 -25cm wide by the length of the door so a pretty wide range to try it on. They are the type of windows that you can open inwards to clean the outsides - come into the room. Because we are on a slope I need to clean most of the outsides from the inside.
I did have a window cleaner for the outsides but he came twice then never came back - never found out exactly why but suspect it was a)tricky to get a ladder up to some of the windows and b) because of my biggest problem...
The black seals around the glass on some of the units is perishing in the sun - black comes off onto a cloth etc and it makes them very hard to get streak free - even with a squeegee.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
We have a kitchen with a partial glass roof and lots of glass window so I thought this could be a very useful tool. I am really impressed with it - so much quicker than doing it manually and provide a professional looking streak-free result. there is a slot for a telescopic pole but it doesn't first one we already had unfortunately but apparently if you already have a Leifheit then it will fit this too

Pros

- Quick to use and leaves a lovely streak-free finish
- Light (1.2 kg) and bright design
- Can capture about 500 ml of water in upright position
- Charges in about 30 minutes
- Can be used with Leifheit telescopic pole to reach high windows

Cons

- only one 28 cm wiper so not suitable for very small pane windows
