Product Description

Product Description

Making floor cleaning easier is the purpose of the Leifheit clean twist disc mop.

To use, dip the mop head into the bucket, filled with your normal cleaning solution, to wet and rinse the mop. Then, locate the wet mop head into the twist holder. Release lever on handle and simply press mop handle down. The mop head spins and water and dirt are expelled into the 20 litre universal bucket. The more presses on the handle, the more the mop spins and the drier the mop head. In normal use this can be between three and nine presses.

For damp sensitive wooden floors it is an advantage to be able to control the moisture content in the mop head. The patented twist system helps achieve this.

Another benefit of the twist system is that dirt and grit particles are flung out of the mop head when it is spun out in the bucket. Such grit and dirt particles can scratch a floor when it is being cleaned. With a standard mop and sieve style wringer, dirt particles are pressed deeper into the mop head and can cause damage to the floor.

The mop head is made from micro fibre. The fine micro fibres hold dirt effectively within the mop head, meaning fewer rinses are required – saving time. Traditional mops hold the dirt on their surface and if not quickly washed off the dirt is simply spread across the floor with each wipe.

The Leifheit clean twist system ensures that the mop cover will be cleaner and dryer than any other system.

Replacement mop head Leifheit number 52020.

By its price tag. A mop selling for £50? Well, I had to try it just to see if it cleaned the floor all by itself, just like in Snow White (it doesn't).

So what are you getting here that you can't get in Wilkos? it's nicely boxed, and is sturdily made - extremely well constructed in fact, in a very vivid turquoise colour. There are no specific instructions, but it is very easy to put together. The mop part itself is circular with a hole in the middle underneath, like a doughnut, and is made from what looks like high quality microfibre (meaning you shouldn't need to add detergent to the water). Replacement mop heads are available from Amazon for £7.99 here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Leifheit-Twist-Disc-Replacement-Head/dp/B0083TWTT0

The USP of this mop is its centrifugal system for extracting water from the mophead. The green clip 2/3 of the way up fixes for when you are washing the floor, and then unclips so you can push the mop down from the top, a bit like one of those old-fashioned spinning tops. The mop head then spins around in the special wringer, extracting the water in a very efficient way - 2 'spins' and the mop was practically dry. We were a bit sceptical that the centrifugal force would spray dirty water all over the kitchen floor, but to our surprise there wasn't a single drop outside of the bucket. So far, so good!

How easy is it to use? Well, the disc head has a hole in the centre like a doughnut. I didn't like this much as it meant that you are missing the bit of floor in the centre as you mop - sometimes you need a bit of elbow grease, and because the place in the middle where the direction of the downward force would normally go is just a hole, you can't exert much force.

This is a well made set...of mop and bucket....
It seems to be quite sturdy and should last years....

    PROS

    1. Well made
    2. Bucket has two handles
    3. Mop is light and easy to hold
    4. I like the colour!
    5. The mop head is good and effective
    4. The spinner in the bucket easily removes excess water from the mop head.

    CONS
    1. Expensive
    2. Some people will not like the colour
    3. It does not have a clip to hold the mop when its not in use....so it has to sit in the bucket but can fall over....so thats why 4 stars instead of 5....
I actually like galvanised buckets more....
Harris Victory Galvanised Mop Bucket and Wringer....and you can get these too.... Vileda VIL122240 Supermocio Bucket And Wringer

So a good item but it depends how much you want to spend!!!!

I really like this mop, with it's microfibre mop-head and centrifugal spinner. To be honest, I though the spinner was a bit of a gimmick at first, but after a couple of uses I've found that it saves you from slopping water all over the floor, so the floor dries much quicker.

There are a couple of niggles. The handles of the bucket fit can fall out when you're not carrying the bucket (they're secure when you are carrying it), and the handle on my mop is not quite straight, and the eccentricity means that when you're spinning the mop-head the whole bucket vibrates, and a little water can sometimes splash out. The spinning mechanism is very simple, by the way: you release a clip on the mop handle, and then push down to make the mop-head spin. The harder you push, the faster it spins and the more water flies off into the bucket. An added bonus of the "pump action" mop spinner is that you can shorten the mop handle for storage.

The microfibre head you get with the mop is really quite effective at picking up dirt. I have a lino floor in my kitchen and terracotta tiles in my sitting and dining rooms. The lino on the kitchen floor dries within about five minutes of cleaning; the terracotta takes a bit longer, perhaps 15 minutes. As long as I keep rinsing the mop frequently, the floors both come up shiny clean.

    It's a pretty good buy.

With having different types of tiled flooring in the home, one slate and a bit of a mare at times to mop as some mops bits get stuck or shredded when using. So I was more than happy to try this mop and bucket set and to see if it really lived up to the expensive price it is at. Normally use just a cheap cloth mop, as cheap enough when used a few times to throw away and can normally buy two for under two pounds. Mop bucket wise normally spend just two pounds fifty on a cheap colourful one as basically just wanting a mop bucket to wring the mop out in and it does not have to be a designer one. Again just cheap enough when harder to clean to throw. Alright not good for the landfill, but with having two pigs, one dog, kids and ducks we do get through quite a number of mops and buckets.

This mop and bucket set is one for the house and not animal use, for the stone tiled kitchen floor, slate floor and wooden bedroom floor and tiled hallway and cloakroom, plus Lino in the washroom. So it is expensive well sounds it but after using it on all floors I am impressed with it. Would I pay the full asking price of nearly fifty pounds, well asked husband and he thought I was joking, think he might have thought I had gone mad if I had of done. Half the price and yes would buy one, but full price think again.

It does cut the drying time down by half so very impressed with that aspect of it. More like a salad drier but a lot bigger. The colour might not be to everyone's liking but at least it looks clean and built well, even has a three year warranty. Got fed up of some of the mop buckets that fall apart from using too much force when trying to wring it out.
