So you have the Rock Band franchise that lets you live your wildest 'wannabe rockstar' dreams. Then you have the Lego franchise that provides great family friendly entertainment. Then in a genius mad scientist moment somebody thought hey wouldnt it be good if there was a Lego Rock Band game. Mad as that person may have been they were right!
Lego Rock Band takes the core Rock Band mechanic of knockin out awesome rock tunes with plastic instruments and wraps it up with Lego goodness. Adding all sorts of additional gameplay elements that will keep the young un's just as interested as parents.
There are even Lego versions of Queen, Blur, Bowie, Spinal Tap and Iggy pop to play as. How cool is that!
As well as the multitude of on disk songs that are all kiddie friendly you can also download songs from the extensive online rock band catalgue (filtered for family suitability of course) so it should keep you playing for ages!
All I need now is to build myself a Guitar out of lego and i'll be happy! Oh and Lego you really need to be making Lego versions of the in game characters you can buy. Then I could play roadie building Stages for them!
Err maybe I am getting a bit carried away now I am 37 after all!
If your curious about Rock band and not taken the plunge yet then this would be the ideal way to get into it (You can pretend it for the kids then!) but dont forget your plastic instruments!!!

If the consept of Rock Band is familiar to you then this brings nothing new, only the background animations are now played by Lego characters. To me, this is more funny than the "serious" characters in previous versions. Especially the Lego dudes based on real musicians such as Queen or Iggy Pop are hilarious. The song list is a great party pack, but this is of course a matter of opinion. if you like Rock Band then this is highly recommendable.
Oh yeah, you can also disable the pedal from the drums wich is great, bacause I hate that thing!

I extracted the tracks for rb1 then gave it to my little brother, he was chuffed to bits with it! There's some great and well-known songs that make it a bit more 'family and friends' friendly than the rest of the rb series. Overall a hit with everybody, well worth the money

For me this is the best list of songs out of all the rock band / guitar hero games .

If Rock Band is the grown up Guitar Hero, then Lego Rock Band is the grown up Guitar Hero for kids. Or something. All very colourful, and designed with kids in mind. Read more
