I bought this item from a shop for my son's 9th birthday before I read any reviews. They are misleading.
When my son opened his present he was sooo excited to have a giant lego brick and to have his own cd player! It has a handle that neatly fold in and out and he was delighted to carry it around and show everyone. The design is wonderful, James May could have it in his lego house. My husband feels its worth buying for this alone. It is a future design classic. We are collectors of mid century modern furniture and this item is beautiful.
I have found the sound quality perfect for my son. He likes to listen to story cd's which are perfectly clear and then when he listens to his music he adds the bass which gives a better sound. No electrical humming sound from our machine.

I purchased this item as a Christmas present for my 9 year old son, no other cd player would do as he is Lego mad. It is basic but it all works fine, sound quality is obviously not going to be brilliant with 1w speakers but it does the job. Perfect for a childs room as you don't want to hear it throughout the house when in use, although if on high volume it can be heard throughout the whole house!

I purchased this for my son to listen to his favourite story CDs, I was hoping the fun design would appeal to him however after only a few weeks the CD player has stopped working and I am currently battaling to get my money back from either Amazon or the manufacturer.

Cool Baby Room Gadget
This is a really cool "boombox" and fits in baby's room really well for playing CD's and listening to the radio. Looking at connecting up the Lego MP3 player with it also.
