The Danish veteran thrash and speed metal band's 7th regular studio album. And Legions are among their best. Fantastic songwriting, fast guitars and a really good vocalist. If you like any of the older Artilley albums or are into melodic thrash metal (no growling here), you should definately give this album a try!

I was saddened to hear that Søren Adamsen had left Artillery, albeit under friendly terms, he seemed to breathe new life into this veteran thrash act.
Well fear (of tomorrow) not (see what I did there?). In steps Michael Basthol Dahl, to fill the vocal duties and what a job he does. Artillery has never sounded as melodic. Søren had already added a good dose of melody and Dahl builds on this. Some people might complain that he’s a little too melodic, more power metal than gnarly thrash, but I argue that Artillery have always had a fair share of melody.
So what of the new material? Well for starters let me mention the production. It’s nothing short of superb, the band has never sounded better, the guitars have crunch and the drums are clear, you can even hear the bass! And Dahl’s vocals are just about right in the mix.
The new material is packed full of great riffs, catchy choruses and great hooks. Honestly you’ll be humming them for days. I’m not going to go into individual tracks as I’m sure you want to find out for yourselves. But I must mention that the special edition has two re-recording of some Artillery classics, ‘The Almighty’ and ’Eternal War’. It’s definitely worth tracking these down, as it shows that Michael can easily handle original vocalists ‘Flemming Rönsdorf’ lines.
Bottom line: great album from one of thrash metals formative bands.
