CLASSIC GAME FOR ME OF THE NINE...3RD OCTOBER 1981.MANCHESTER UNITED V WOLVES...The day MR ROBSON WAS INTRODUCED AS AN 80S ICON OF OLD TRAFFORD..utd were superb in this match and a Sammy Mcilroy hat-trick rounds off a stunning performance. Its interesting how the same names feature through the late 70s to the end of the 8os.other things to look out for,,, the nasty year of 1985! with wins at chelsea and arsenal (look at the unrest on the clockend!!!!)OTHER GREAT GOALS TO LOOK FOR, NORMAN WHITESIDE IN THAT GAME AT HIGHBURY, AND NEIL WEBB ON HIS DEBUT V ARSENAL IN 89 when in the words of martin tyler of 'a new era'!.ITS INTERESTING TO COMPARE THE CROWD PASSION 70S AND 80S (LOVE TO CHECK OUT THE ( FASHION AND FACES),and all in all its a good step back into an era i miss very much.dvd via amazon .u.k.

I am not a Manchester City fan but I do collect football dvds and this (4:3 format) box set is great. Some nice old games, with original commentary, it features games shown on ESPN Classic but it is handy having them in this form, easily accessed. Sometimes you just can`t find the recordings you know you have somewhere! Highly recommended.

Really just old itv big match highlights which featured playing legends - nothing really to impress the significance of the respective players

Just a warning to people who expecting complete matches here. The Man City set is mostly a hi-lite set.

Episode (Disc) 1 features matches versus Chelsea; Stoke City; Derby County & Chelsea again. These are short hi-lites of each game.

Episode (Disc) 2 features extended hi-lites (25 minutes) on two games both versus Spurs.

Episode (Disc) 3 is suppose to feature 2 complete games, both versus Man Utd. My set only featured one, 23/9/89. And yes it was the full match! The 11/9/77 disc was not in my set although it says it is on the back of the case.

Personally I hate hi-lite dvds. I need to watch the whole match to see how it played out. Sure these are great matches with the heroes of yesterday. But it would have been better to show the complete match. I'd prefer one complete game in each set than hi-lites of 4 games.
