Having finished this book in only a few days, I can easily summarise my thoughts - It's like a 'digested' version of "One Good Run", which happens to be a book that I thoroughly enjoyed.

This left me puzzled as to who this book ('Legend of Speed') is actually aimed at (kids?). I can only think that it's for people who've seen the film ('The World's Fastest Indian') and like the idea of finding out just that little bit more about Burt Munro; but without really taking things to any great depth.

Basically I was left feeling a little disappointed and short-changed, perhaps (mistakenly) in the idea that there'd be some fresh insights into a fascinating character.

My recommendation would be to just read "One Good Run".
