Blimey! The best Rock voice ever? Okay, I'm biased, always loved "Hold Me" (1965) and I met and photographed PJ for The Independent in autumn 1995 just before the release of "Legend". Hadn't heard "Legend" for years, then I played "Crawling Back" one sunny May evening in the motor...and again and again. In Proby's hands this little Roy Orbison lullabye becomes a tour de force, the power and range of PJ's voice taking the song to heights even the wonderful Big O never reached. He pulls the same trick with late-Elvis covers as well as with original material and it makes you wonder what on earth PJ might have achieved if he'd ever had the courage to take himself seriously. Buy it! Me? Checked-out PJ's website, he's still gigging, mainly up North. Must catch him live. He'll probably be awful...but there won't be another PJ, ever.

What to say about this couple? PJ Proby and Marc Almond. Well they did a great job. Take Suburban Opera... his voice is breathtaking, the songs is brilliant. Would love this album for this single song alone. But there is I'm coming back (written by Marc Almond), Pain in you heart, Devil in red velvet (also written by Marc Almond) and Child of clay (one of the duetts - and it's the better one!!!). Being an Almond fan I was wondering at first but this Cd is a MUST HAVE.

Well what can you say about the best album dear old Jim has made.Apart from the sad fact that it didnt sell.But just buy and put on,sit back and enjoy. From "Im coming Back" its begins good and get better, in my mind stand out tracks are " Crawling Back" with more pathos than Roy Orbison and "Suburban Opera" which could and should of been a hit, also one of the best recording Jim has made "Yesterday has Gone"

If you want to buy just one Proby CD this is the one. As I said buy it and enjoy.
