Book Description

13 Jan 2010
The Legend of Justice and Diamonds is finally revealed as chronicled through the recorded visions of The Creator's scribe, Acellus, the first angelic being created. His scrolls take us back into the past where future began, into an alternate reality during the sixth year reign of the first evil King who cared for none. This is the time of the first Earth, before the Earth as it is now; before the Creator fashioned angelic beings as we presently know them. It was during that time that the eternal struggle between good and evil actually began. From the void, the visions of Acellus detail two realms and yet a third: The Forest of Cards, where mankind's virtues reside; the earthly realm, under the evil dynasty of the King of Clubs; and the curious third realm, that of THE KEEPERS: the diviners of the cards. All the forces of Darkness and Light, both in the flesh and in spirit, are centered on two beings that would shape mankind and the second Earth to come: The Lady Justice and The Jack Of Diamonds. She was the moral virtue born from The Forest of Cards, and he the infamous outlaw, first-born of the King of Clubs-thought to have been murdered as an infant. Through their incredulous, impassioned trials, hidden through the ages and now revealed, we find out who and what we really are, and more importantly, who and what we are not. Louis Hemsey is a Screenwriter, Film Composer, Director, and Producer. He is a graduate of The Mannes College of Music in New York City. Currently, he is in pre-production for his independent film: Matter of Honor. Visit him at www.louhemsey.com and HEntertainmentinc.com

5.0 out of 5 stars Myth and Archetypes 20 Mar 2010
By Bonnie Cehovet - Published on Amazon.com
Lou Hemsey has written one of the best books out there that combines Tarot with a plausible fiction story line. The presentation is through the eyes and pen of the character Acellus, first scribe to the Creator. He has been instructed to gaze across the void and write down the action that he sees in the first world - the world that apppeared before the world we live in.

The story revolves around the six year reign of the evil King of Clubs, chronicling the original struggle between Good and Evil. The characters focused on are the King of Clubs, his first wife, the Queen of Diamonds (and their son, the rebel Jack of Diamonds), his second wife, the Queen of Spades (and their son, the Ace of Spades), and the Tarot archetype Lady Justice.

The story moves smoothly between three realms - (1) the Forest of Cards, where mankind's virtues reside (in the form of the Tarot archetypes), (2) the earthly realm of the King of Clubs, and (3) the realm of the Keepers, the ones who read the Tarot cards.

This is a well written, fast paced story, with an ending that promises a sequel (which will involve the son's of the Jack of Diamonds and the Ace of Spades), along with the Queen of Diamonds and Lady Arabella of Saxon.

A good read with lots of food for thought!
3.0 out of 5 stars Poor Proofreading!! 5 Nov 2012

Went to school with Louis so when everyone from my class was talking about it on FB I thought why not see what it was like. The storyline was very creative, however, sometimes (and this may be due to the very poor job done on editing the spelling and grammatical errors) it was quite confusing. In my opinion, this book was overly expensive due to the extremely poor proofreading and the lack of depth of the story. It could have been way more interesting considering the story concept.
