This is an excellent twofer released by BGO Records in 2013.
The first album here is Indian Summer released in May 1977 on ABC Records. Produced by Poco and Mark Henry Harman it reached number 57 on the Billboard album charts. It was album number 12 for the group and the last to feature Timothy B. Schmit and George Grantham.
There was one single released from the album , the title track Indian Summer , sung by Paul Cotton and making number 50 on the Hot100
This album is very much late seventies country rock.
The second album here is Legend which was released in November 1978 and was their biggest selling album. Produced by Richard Sandford Orshoff It reached number 14 on the Billboard chart and featured new members Charlie Harrison and Steve Chapman.
There were two singles released from the album. Crazy Love sung by Rusty Young was a number one hit on the adult contemporary chart in 1979 and Heart Of The Night with a vocal by Paul Cotton reached number 5 also in 1979.
This album was a new direction for Poco as they moved away from country rock into a more soft rock sound.

A good value two fer package of strong albums from the always reliable Poco. Legend provided radio friendly hits in the states. Indian Summer is a touch more traditional Poco. Look out for the 'Blue and Gray' and 'Under the Gun' two fer package. Both excellent albums.

Poco's excellent late 70's albums. 4 Sept. 2014
By ScottE - Published on Amazon.com
Another fine release by BGO with Poco's "Indian Summer", (1977) and their best selling album "Legend", (1978). Very good sound on these two albums, beats the heck out of the MCA/ABC titles. ***** "Indian Summer", ****1/2 "Legend", ****1/2 sound and ***** package. Excellent liner notes in this package, a BGO speciality.

"Indian Summer", had Poco with Paul Cotton, Rusty Young, Timothy B. Schmit and George Grantham. Some fine numbers in the title track, #50 on the hot 100, Donald Fagen of Steely Dan lends support on this track, they became friends during their 1975 album "Head Over Heels". "Twenty Years", the smooth rocker "Downfall", Paul Cotton plays a great guitar on this track. Fagen again lends support on "Win Or Lose", a funky little tune, the smokin' "Living In The Band", the spry "Stay (Night Until Noon)", the folksy "Find Out In Time", you can see why The Eagles wanted Schmit. Then we get the classic "The Dance:When The Dance Is Over/Go On And Dance/ Never Gonna Stop/ When The Dance Is Over" (Reprise), strong material, this album would make it up to #57.
"Legend", #14, in 1978 would go gold and become their best selling album. They would bring in Steve Chapman on drums and Charlie Harrison on bass to replace Grantham and Schmit. The album opens with "Boomerang", a disco backbeat, seemed that most bands would try this in one form or another in the late 70's or early 80's, still solid rocking number. "Spellbound", gentle as a baby's bottom, but with a tasty guitar lick. Paul Cotton's "Barbados", brings to mind life on the island, catchy tune. The So-Cal sound of "Little Darlin'", and their two big hits "Heart Of The Night", #20, a gentle pop-rocker, my favorite of the hits and "Crazy Love", #17. "The Last Goodbye", is a nice number with some very tasty guitar work. The album closes with the classic title track, which would springboard them to "Under The Gun", in 1980, that would be the classic album i became a fan of. (Review of "Under The Gun" and "Blue And Grey", is on online). Thanks BGO for keeping Poco's LEGEND alive, because American record labels don't give a crap anymore.
