A classic album from the four man lost boyz crew. Involving such classics as 'Jeeps, lex coups, bimaz & benz' and 'Renee' this album is still a true hip-hop classic and a superb debut attempt from the queens based group. The combination of different styles from hip-hop in 'Music makes me high' to the r 'n' b style love song 'Renee' makes for quality listening.

I was quite cautious about this album and there's a funny story to my buying it. I first heard "123" about 10 years ago on a banged up cassette tape recorded by my mate and loved it! - (those under 15, cassette tapes are like hardcopy MP3s!)

With my new found wealth in young adulthood i went on a quest to buy all the music i heard on such tapes as a youngster. I bought Love, Peace and Nappiness by mistake thinking that "123" was on it - (it's not).

Now the reason i was cautious about Legal Drug Money was because i wasn't really feeling there second offering and couldn't remember the title of "123", thus didn't want to get caught out again.

To sum up . . . this album is really really good and is indicative of how so many Hip Hop debuts are better than most successive material. The production is what hit me first - top notch, hiding the fact that Cheeks isn't the most adept MC. Saying that Cheeks and Freaky Tah do a great job on this record - taking the listener through more than a couple journies and not letting them forget that LB can be very poilitical - check Channel Zero.

But it's Freaky Tah on 123 that sells it for me - how many LB tunes have you listened to for the first time, praying that Tah unleashes that formidable gravelly voice! Well you get it on 123.

You'll love it if: you heard jewels like 123 growing up but didn't know where they came from!

You'll loathe it if: . . . wait, you WILL probably love it - something for everyone.
