Product Description

Manufacturer's Description
In the year 1930 Japanese scientists discovered an unusual substance which when injected in human body starts to regenerate body cells stopping the process of aging. However, with the first few volunteers it became clear that something has gone wrong: after ten days the rejuvenation was so intense that a body couldn’t take that much of a shock. All of the subjects died of a stroke. In 1936 Japan and Germany sign the Anti-Comitern Pact. Hitler’s leading scientist Josef Mengele negotiated the terms of the cooperation with Japanese concerning the research of the regenerative substance. These negotiations lasted until 1941, when Germans realized that their soldiers aren’t able to bare the cold Russian climate. Japanese, concerned for their interests in Russia, decided to help them unconditionally. In December, 1941 the Institute for Hereditary Biology with its leading scientist dr. Mengele received a mysterious package from Japan. Only the chosen ones knew that it contained all records regarding the creation of the regenerative substance. To get to Germany as soon as possible, pilots of the cargo plane had to fly over the enraging Stalingrad front.

Journalist
It’s the year 1941. The journalist of Moskovske Izvestie, Jevgenij Borisov is located in one of trenches of the Stalingrad’s war zone. Talking to the soldiers he finds out about the great German invasion. He decides to gather as much information and photos as possible before he returns to Moscow. He leaves the trench and notices a crashed airplane. In the crater by the plane he sees a wooden box. He opens it and takes a look at the files. His heart starts to beat faster…

JB
In 1976 Jevgenij Borisov manages to figure out the files he pulled out from the German airplane 35 years ago. By that time he was already 60 and the thought of the eternal youth completely possessed him. Several years later he manages to complete the serum and injects it into his blood stream. He became immortal. To conceal his secret, every 30 years he faked his death so that he could return as his own heir. Once he’s realized there was no time barrier, he decided to build the largest business empire in the world. In March 2020 he made a deal with the corrupted government of the League of Nations about the conquest of the Universe. He started to build colonies on Mars and asteroids. In the year 2100 unsatisfied with the world order he decides to take matters into his own hands and take over the entire world. To succeed in his intentions he needed an army of invincible soldiers. He decides to initiate the program BioRoboSoldier (BRS). The factory for making these cloned monsters was built on the asteroid Pallas, and in an old Russian military base he built the sleeping chambers. There he gathered his army and waited for the right moment to attack.

Ren
Ren Silver is a private investigator. She used to work for the police, but thanks to her stubbornness instead of the promotion she got fired. That hurt her mother (also the police officer) more than Ren. As an investigator she usually worked on boring cases of unfaithful husbands and missing pets. She has an office in an old warehouse. From time to time she would work on bigger cases with her friends Ted, the journalist, and Hacker. Across the hall from her office is a laboratory of a goofy guy named Charles who is, apart from Ted, Hacker and Winny, the taxi driver one of Ren’s rare friends.

2.0 out of 5 stars In theory anything could be good, 27 Dec 2005

I liked this game upto the 4-5 hours mark. After that it kept crashing at random. There's no support worth a damn to be had anywhere.

Normally a game crashing doesn't bother me (spot the non-console gamer here!) but when saving involves 14 key/mouse presses and takes 2-3 minutes you'll, hopefully, understand why I gave up. I don't mind getting killed by puzzles (much) but randomly having your progress snuffed out just wore me down. It was an interesting story with absolutely awful voice-acting (mainly) but the crashes just sickened me after a while.

I went to the official site and got no help, pretty much learning that the devs had fulfilled their contract and moved on.

1.0 out of 5 stars Extremely Disappointed!, 31 Jul 2005
By Mrs. Nicola Le Page "Nicki" (Guernsey) - See all my reviews

I bought this game mainly because of the price but after playing it for about and hour - I wanted my money back!!
Besides the dubious time spent in loading the game and the fact that whilst loading it launched photo and media programs - I persevered hoping that the game would be worth waiting for.
I could not have been more wrong! There is no explanation of what you have to do and I found myself moving the character aimlessly around the levels hoping that something would start to make sense! I was even more confused to start as a male soldier in a WWII bunker, open up a box and then be transported to Mars as a woman! The game makes no sense. I am sure had I wasted another couple of hours on this game the storyline would have become clearer - but to be honest - I would have rather pulled out my own teeth.
The game is now in the bin and there it shall stay.
Oh yeah - and to top it all - it crashed twice whilst I was playing it and caused my PC to go into DOS mode - buy this game at your peril!

4.0 out of 5 stars Definitely one of the better adventures in the last year, 14 April 2005
If you're looking for an adventure game to play, you could do a lot worse than Legacy: Dark Shadows. It is a fairly standard 3rd person adventure game (a la Syberia) set in the future but with links to an event in the Second World War. The graphics are excellent and the puzzles not too difficult. The main character has some charisma but is a bit forgettable but the whole story worked for me and I enjoyed it. It is also priced to sell and thoroughly deserves to.

This is one of the few recent adventure games that I will be keeping hold of to replay in the future.
