As a last single from a truly great band that deserved more success than they saw, Left is HOTS's perfect swansong. Beauitful and swooning, it's a fitting end to a career that could have been much better. B-sides Silent In The Towerblocks and End are fittingly morose, as Sam says goodbye to the band he believed in so much: "show me where the music went to die/let me listen to the tapes as they unwind... won't make the same mistakes again"

Instrumentals Boxes For Particles and Minifigures are flightly electronic pieces that could perhaps point towards a new direction for members of the band post-HOTS, and inspire new hope that such talented people will continue to make music.

If you're not a fan you won't want this, but if you are you can't miss it. "Here comes the ending, the predictable ending of it all" -- RIP Hope Of The States
