OH, WHAT A WALK!! 8 July 2010
By KEVIN
I recently walked the full length of the canal from Liverpool to Leeds over a period of 9 days (12th. to 20th June,2010).

I needed a map in order to locate stopping points for lunch/overnight stops and this map was invaluable. Three of the places which I had earmarked as stopping points for lunch were no more, alas, but thanks to the map, I was able to find alternatives quickly. The famed 'Hole in the Wall' at Foulbridge (Mentioned in the map) is no more - it is now a 'Hole in the Ground' haveing been demolished. Sad.

If you are thinking of doing the full walk, or just a section, then this map is essential. All the bridges, locks and tunnels are named and numbered so in the event of an emergency, you know exactly where you are and can summon help quickly.

All in all, an essential piece of kit and well worth the purchase price.

Canal walking 24 Oct 2010
By Jay
A very informative map of the Leeds- Liverpool canal.

Ok you cannot really get lost on the canal but the details of the surrounding areas are so good that it makes what may be a less interesting walk into a very good walk.

First class 5 April 2010
This is a good working double sided map with plenty of white space around it for all those little notes that you know you want: bus route numbers and times; pub names; B&B telephone numbers; detour details and places you want to go back to and see again. Easy to read and being double sided small and foldable for your pocket. To be honest, you cannot go wrong with this one, the big OS maps are great, but they have too much on them and no space for all your little remarks.

The map to have
I found the map to be very useful in giving a good idea of the layout of the canal when used with the Nicholsons guide.
