5 great gigs from Lee Evans, movie star, ex-boxer and manic sweaty little devil!
Often compared to norman wisdom in stature and due to his physical slapstick comedy, although Lee is a lot funnier! Live at wembley and in Scotland are two of the best comedy DVDs ever, with his sharp one-liners and surreal observations. Some of his facial expressions and voices make me laugh every time, as does the reacurring nitwit 'malcolm'
This charts his introduction gig through to the penultimate release (the New XL DVD is also hilarious and most up to date - released for Xmas 2005 and not in this). Some styles of gag and a few introductory skits can look similar but I am still amazed he has made up this much material! He usually ends with a song with mixed results and that is probably a show stopper live but loses some of the drama in the translation to the small screen.
Overall - it made me, my brothers, friends and parents laugh out loud heartily very often! Watch again and again, genuinely one of the funniest men in this century so far along with Bill Bailey, Eddie Izzard, Ross Noble, Ricky Gervais et al.
