I've always liked Lee jeans, from way back when I was sixteen, to now where I'm sixty six! I always liked to run my belt behind the Lee 'branding iron' label. (I don't mind free advertising sometimes!)This pair that I bought through Amazon is the second I had bought in just a few weeks. My first pair had arrived and being happy with seeing the brand name, I didn't even try them on, but put them away, for quite a while! Subsequently, I had shredded my receipt along with other papers, and eventually put my new jeans on to go out. I found it impossible to fasten the zip - my new strides were horribly tight and I was in danger of doing myself a naughty injury; 'hem, 'hem.
Two points here. Firstly: my original pair I noted, when checking the label size, stated: 32 waist, 30 leg (manufactured in BANGLADESH). My second pair, which fitted me fine, stated on the label: 32 waist, 30 leg (manufactured in POLAND). The stated sizings were as I had ordered.
Secondly: In measuring along the waistbands of said jeans - and I also for comparison's sake, measured four pairs of old jeans that I had cut down for shorts - all the measures except my new pair from Bangladesh were 37.5inches along the waistband. My Bangladeshi pair measured 35.5 inches!
So!! Sadder and wiser I have a pair of jeans I can't wear and no receipt. Dohh! Needless to say, check your goods when they arrive and HOLD ON to the pesky receipt! Finally, for the purposes of the review, I can nevertheless still recommend Lee jeans. Perhaps I should write to LEE in the US of A and get them to check the labelling procedures at the Bangladeshi factory.
