Review

′If you are looking for a book that provides you with a quick overview of geriatric medicine, focuses in key points only and is small enough to fit in your white coat this is the ideal book.′

GKT Gazette, 2001

′An excellent book overall. I would have used this book regularly during my elderly care attachment for reference when around the wards and clinics and for reading prior to tutorials.′

5th year medical student (Southampton)

′This is the perfect accompaniment to those ′problems of old age′ modules that there is never enough time for. The lecture notes series is good and this is no exception.′

Sphincter, Liverpool Medical school Gazette

′I′m very impressed with it.…Contains enough detail to answer questions on a ward round!′

4th year medical student (UEA) --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent 29 Mar 2013
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I wish I had this book when I was at medical school. It's an excellent teaching guide to how to manage elderly patients, what to expect of your patients and what your patients can expect of you.

It's brilliantly written and a book every medical undergraduate should read. It's applicable to daily life on the wards and helps one understand the complexities of caring for patients who are elderly (whether you are on a specialist Geriatric ward, in the community or from any medical/surgical specialty where elderly patients are under your care). I absolutely cannot praise this book highly enough. Hats off to Dr Nicholl and Dr Wilson for this fantastically written text.

A book I would highly recommend. Elderly Medicine forms a part of our undergraduate medical training and I feel this book provides the right amount of information in an easy to read style.
I like the layout and style of the book.
I would recommend it to any medical student who needs a concise book on elderly care.
