Product Description
An alcoholic (Nicolas Cage) decides to travel to Las Vegas to drink himself to death, but when he arrives he embarks on a strange love affair with a prostitute (Elisabeth Shue). He never asks her to change her profession whilst she never asks him to stop drinking. When his health deteriorates, however, she begs him to see a doctor. He refuses and leaves her, putting both their lives on a downward spiral. Nicolas Cage won an Academy Award for Best Actor.

i was horrified to sethat someone gave ths film 1 star based solely on the fact that they thought the manufacturing of the disc was not up to scratch. I have watched this film many times and never had any visual or sound problems. I would suggest to any one that has these problems to return their product as it is obviously faulty.
As for the film it is the most amazing example of first rate acting and the story line is incredible, it is a tear jerker for boys and girls alike. Like a lot of Cage's films you might need to extend your attention span at times. A must see love story and a film not to be missed.

Could not find any means to play the 4.0 DTS soundtrack - that is if there is one recorded on the disc. The player keept reporting that its playing the stereo English track whatever i did. The same thing for the subtitles as well. There are no menu options for changing the audio or subtitles.
The only 4.0 channel i could hear on this disc is the Studio Canal flick at the beginning.
Bad and cheap disc authoring, i could have sworn it was a pirated DVD if i didnt buy it from amazon myself. If it was another movie i would return it today.
The studios should show some respect to their movies when putting them on DVDs or Hi def discs.
