    Superb... A must... 9 Feb 2009
This leatherman charge pouch is much superior to its nylon brother and a must for any leatherman owner.
It is built extremely sturdily and has a popper fastening as opposed to Velcro which on other cases perishes over time and i must say looks great in stylish black and silver.
    This product comes HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

I bought this as a replacement for the 'premium leather and nylon' case that was supplied with my Charge. Unlike that case, this one holds the tool very securely with little movement when shaken around. With the Charge in the 'premium' case it was possible to remove the tool without opening the case, and although not too likely, that did allow the possibility that it could fall out - that is not possible with this case.

The case feels very sturdy and is made of thick leather, although this may soften a little with time. It adds a fair amount of bulk to the naked tool, but this doesn't feel particularly noticeable in use. The belt loop is quite tight and may not fit larger belts, but this does mean that it feels very secure on the belt and doesn't move or bounce around.

The case does have additional storage pocked on the sides, which may fit something small and cylindrical, such as a pen or whistle, but not too much else. There is also a pocket behind the tool which is presumably intended to carry the flat 'bit kit' slide, however initially at least this is very tight and makes the case hard to close.

Overall a very solid case and almost certainly the best one for the Leatherman Charge.

I bought the leather pouch as the nylon versions always wear out with regular use. I have found the leather puches last about 6 years with daily use. Unfortunately these pouches seem to have bigger cutouts then previous models meaning they are not so secure for the accessories. The extension piece for the screwdrivers keeps falling straight through. As for the actual Leatherman, having previously bought the titanium (which is rather misleading) and the stainless steel models I would recommend anyone to go that route. If you want this particular black model then at least check the model in a local dealer first. I am disappointed with this model as it feels less substantial and quite fragile in comparison. It is being put in drawer ready to gift to someone - I don't want such a delicate feeling tool.
