I own several similar multi-tools, so over time, I've made comparisons & formed preferences. My others are a classic Swiss Army knife (you know, the classic red Victorinox?) and a fairly heavy duty Gerber item. This Leatherman is the most used, and perhaps my favourite. The most useful items for me are the scissors and the long nosed pliers - a most handy multi tool in my fishing box. The Swiss Army knife doesn't have the pliers, but I think has a better finish & build quality. The Gerber, though very strong is too big & heavy, so doesn't get taken anywhere. Flight regs & over zealous knife regulations have really killed off the always-in-your-pocket nature of these things as well, unfortunately. When you most need it, you're often not allowed to have it with you, although as another has said - it's probably OK to carry this little knife, except in nightclubs perhaps! It's quite small - the baby of the Leatherman range.
Why only three stars? It's a bit fragile. The bottle opener is thin, bends a little if not careful, then doesn't fold away neatly. It's also prone to rusting, which the Swiss Army knife never did. It doesn't like saltwater - keep it rinsed and clean otherwise it will begin to rust.
