This bit extender for Leatherman tools can take both the flattened Leatherman bits together with standard screwdriver bits, significantly extending the usefulness of Leatherman multitools with a swappable bit. It also fits snugly into the side of the Surge pouch, which is a neat extra. The actual fit of the product is a little disappointing; there is noticeable play once the product is snapped into place, with the end of the extender able to move back and forth about a mm on either side. I also initially believed the product didn't fit with the Leatherman bit set I had already bought; some experimentation is needed to find an orientation in which the bits are held securely.

Overall a valuable addition to your Leatherman tool - and the only official product of this type you can buy - but slightly disappointing that the build quality doesn't match up to the tool it goes with.

brilliant, withstands a huge ammount of torque. Leatherman products are just worth every cent.

fits in one of the sides of the nylon sheath (albeit not very securely)

enables you to use any of the leatherman bits (flat) or the regular Hex bits that you might have elsewhere (no need to carry a handle around)

A++

I use this Leatherman Bit Extender on my Leatherman Wave in conjunction with the Leatherman Bit Kit. It's a very simple bit of kit that extends the reach of your multi-tool. It can also be used with other Leatherman multi-tools as mentioned in other reviews.
If you need a longer arm for your tools then this is the thing for you. Simple.

The reach of the bits on my Charge TTi isn't the best so this seemed like a good idea.
It's a well made piece of kit although rather pricey even as £11.99.
The bits fit well into the tool itself but the bits, being a "flattened" hex shape could be tighter - add the fact that the larger hex bits (and some others) are flattened too and you have two areas where you aren't getting full leverage - works fine but feels a bit like you're using a flat head screwdriver to do a hex bit's job. But it's a necessary part of the design and keeps in compact.
For the smaller hex bits and screwdrivers/torx bits it works fine.

Slips in to the elasticated part of the leather pouch and makes the tool much more useful.
The Leatherman bits do get stuck in it but, hey, you've got a handy pair of pliers to pop it out with!

As with all Leatherman products, this is a well-built and engineered piece of kit. However it is, for all intents and purposes, a piece of metal with a fitting on one end to attach to the Leatherman and with a fitting on the other to accept bits and therefore a little pricey (in my opinion!). What is ingenious about the bit holder is that will also fit 'standard' (i.e. non-Leatherman, hexagonal) bits from any bit kit, ...something to think about before you buy the bit kit (if you're planning on using your Leatherman at home, where you probably already have a drill bit screwdriver set!).

Bought to go with my Charge TTI. Extends the screwdriver bit well out from the main body of the tool, making it more useful. Still small enough to be a practical size to carry with the Leatherman. There is a small amount of movement of the bit when inserted, but not a problem. The other end locates very firmly in place. The textured surface gives good grip (enough to use on its own for a screw not needing too much force). A bit pricey for what it actually is, but it adds much more practicality to an already great multi tool.

It extends the reach of your leatherman making it much more like a screwdriver. Where it locates in the leatherman is in the flat hole where your existing screw bit goes, but interestingly it extends to a hexagonal end. The brilliant design of the screw bits means they fit in this hex in the same way they fitted into their original hole in the leatherman.
Even better is that the hex ending means you can now attach any number of after market "bits".
Has really extended the usefulness of my favourite toy.

Bought this to use in conjunction with my Leatherman Charge TTI Multi-Tool with premium Nylon/Leather pouch and Leatherman Wave Bit Kit since it was often awkward to use the Leatherman in tight areas without.

Works like a charm with a good snug fit on the tool and bits, and for storage it fits in the side of the Leatherman case (not a particularly tight fit, so maybe not such a good idea if case is belt-mounted).

Highly recommended.

Nice bit of Leatherman kit which fits neatly into the driver slot of your wave, surge, skeletool etc. Quite a good length too (3" or so) with the usual quality you would expect from Leatherman. A worthy addition but not essential.
