I'd been looking for an old-fashioned "ever-ready" case to protect my Pen ever since I got it in 2009. Olympus's own leather "body jacket" only offers protection to the bottom and sides of the camera, leaving the lens prone to damage, and the case has to be removed before the camera can be attached to a tripod. Olympus do now make an ever-ready case, but it seems to have been designed by a toddler, and is only available in black. As an interim solution I've been using a video camera case from Case-Logic. This offers good protection, but it's very fiddly to get the camera out each time you want to take a shot.
This case, supplied by BV Electronics, is tailor made for the EP1 and EP2, and fits perfectly, giving full protection to the camera and its lens. It comes with a nylon neck strap in the same colour. Being a two-part case the front flips down to enable the camera to be used quickly, easily, and safely. It doesn't have to be removed to attach the camera to a tripod. I'm very pleased with it, especially as it is less than half the price of the Olympus body-jacket. In my view this is the best case currently available for the Pen, at any price, and gladly recommend it to others.
Special mention should be made of BV's speed of response. I only ordered this case at 1pm on Friday. The order was acknowledged immediately, and later that afternoon I was informed that it had been despatched. The postman (yes, proper postman, not some out-of-town delivery company who just drop a card through the door when you are not there, only delivering on weekdays) delivered it to my door at 11am the following day, Saturday. This is the fastest service I've ever experienced on Amazon.
Why only four stars? Although it is described as being made from leather, I doubt it has seen a cow. But being made of vinyl doesn't affect its capacity to protect my camera, which is why I bought it. If I could give it 4.5 I would have done so.
