Was really helpful during my NQT in order to see what I needed exactly for each QTS. I even used it the year after, after the government reduced QTS to 8. Even though there are less, the book is still useful as the 8 cover the amount there usually was. A must have during your pgce/ nqt!

Great to dip in and out of as required. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because this edition relates to the Q standards and not the new ones. All the information in it is he same though and there's some real 'food for thought' in it.

This is the kind of book that drives me to distraction. Each chapter promises to be fact filled and informative - so you turn to the section on the QTS standard you are interested in and yes, you get a summary of the salient points. Then, before fleshing out the content, you get a quiz or other such "go and reflect", "go and discuss" statement. Then the book picks up where it left off and fills in the content.

Granted, the substance of this title is good and solid, but when will publishers learn that not all ITT students want texts like this?? I want a text to be a factual repository, not a weak substitute for an inspirational lecturer.
