This is EXACTLY what video-based training should be! 31 Jan. 2013

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
I can't begin to describe how impressed with this training package. It's clear and concise, and in terms of evaluating the overall effectiveness of the content, I'd have to give it a perfect 10. Dale Evans and the producers of "Learning Social Media Marketing: A Video Introduction" might as well have been reading my mind when it comes to the things I want to learn about social media marketing. The tutorials are spot on, and follow a sensible and direct path from the introductory material to the actual hands-on guidance. The ROI on this package is immense. For the cost of parking at a classroom training session, I have attained an excellent understanding of the subject matter, and I now have the knowledge and skills I need to actually perform the work I need to do to successfully market via social media. This product definitely gets a thumbs up!

excellent overview of social media 30 Jan. 2013

I am just learning about social media and it's applications so I was excited to review this DVD through the Amazon Vine program. Dave Evans does an excellent job in explaining what social media is, the potential impact on your business and how to choose the best communication method for you to produce results. The DVD is 6 hours long and is organized with 12 Chapters, with several subchapters. Each chapter is approx half hour in length here's an example of the Table of Contents:

1. Introduction to Social Media
1.1 The Rise of the Consumer Marketer 3 min 45 sec
1.2 Traditional Media and Interruptive Marketing 5:33
1.3 Building Trust 6:00
1.4 Word of Mouth Marketing 5:42
1.5 Social Feedback Cycle 4:20
1.6 How to: What are People Saying Now? 6:45

I appreciated how easy it was to watch the DVD a half hour at a time. There is a bookmark feature available so you can highlight sections of particular interest and make notes. Bookmarks have their own tab to make them easy to find and access for future reference. The presentation is similiar to a power point presentation with annotated screen shots. Mr Evans voice is very easy to listen to and the subject matter is presented clearly with explainations. Along the bottom of the screen is scrolling text of what Mr Evans is saying. You may access any chapter or subchapter at any time, you do not have to view the material in sequence. The DVD begins with an introduction to social media, covers various platforms available including Facebook, Google +, Linkedin, 4 Square, ways to make your business advertising effective, and ends with finding your target audience and writing a business plan. I know there are entire books on any one of the above for more advanced social media users. As a beginner I found this DVD highly instructive in providing me with both an overview and specific ideas for practical application. The information and very well done presentation is worth the $38 price.

Extensive training in basic and more advanced marketing as well as social media. 20 Feb. 2013

I love marketing but I really love social media. This is an excellent program for anyone interested in marketing as it takes you step by step through all you need to know about the subject especially for today's customer feedback driven business world.
I personally would have liked it to be far more of a "endless tips for every kind of social media" but it really does cover everything and it is very well done.
Excellent! I highly recommend. 9 April 2013

This video training is excellent. I think most of us are not new to social media. However, using social media to market a business can be a whole different ballgame. I am currently an owner of a business that has never really thought of, nor had to use a strong marketing plan because word of mouth has kept me in business. However, with the slump in economy I have felt that there must be ways to make a solid business even stronger through the appropriate marketing. So, this video caught my eye. Dave Evans does a fantastic job explaining social media and how it can be of use. This is an exceptional video for information. It is very easy to follow. You can watch it start to finish or you can jump around with ease. Since I am busy, I had to watch it chapter by chapter spread over several days. The way the video is produced made this method very easy. I would highly recommend this video for beginners to social media as well as advanced users. I felt like I was a more advanced user, but I learned so much from this video. So, I would highly recommend. Just a word of information... I thought I would just be able to place this in my DVD player and watch it on a television... however, this did not work. I had to view it on my computer to get it to work.
just ok.. 28 Jun. 2013

this video editorial provides a general overview of social media marketing, with topics generally consistent with what you'd expect. its very much a 101-level presentation, not diving too deep into any general topic, but providing a broad overview. if you're a newcomer to social media marketing, this is probably good for you.

one aspect that was nice is that it comes with each video episode in ipad-ready format for transfer and viewing there.

what i did not like is that the video and commentary are about as boring as anything i've encountered. the narrator has absolutely no personality or even the slightest life in his voice. borrrrrring. the content is generally good, but its painful to sit through.
