DONT BUY IT 25 Aug. 2005
By Paula Lee - Published on Amazon.com
Dont waste your money on this one. the picture is cute. but the quailty of the toy isnt any good. the frosting doesnt even stay in the hole and the box is flimsy it would never last with a child. the concept is supposed to be like the game memory, your supposed to turn over the donuts and match the ones with the same frosting. your better off just buying the real memory game. the only thing this is good for is the pretend food concept and even with that it isnt worth this price.

Great for pretend play! 18 Sept. 2006
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com
My three girls ages 3 to 7 liked this toy when added to their pretend food collection. We didn't use it as a game. You can place the different frosting and sprinkle combination pieces onto the different colors of donuts to make different varieties. Each would take a turn 'ordering' types of donuts and the others would 'make' them. Yes, the frosting won't stay on if the donut turns over but fits in easily and works great on a plate for pretend play! Box is flimsy but we just keep all the pieces in our general play food bin so not an issue. Would buy this again. Great for kids with imaginations!

Lots of fun! 17 Oct. 2007

This is such a fun product. My 2 and 4 year olds like to pretend they are serving doughnuts to mommy and daddy.

I really like all of the Learning Resources Smart Snacks great play food with an educational twist. The only disapointment was the cardboard box they are to be stored in. I didn't even give it to my kids because it would have been ruined in seconds. Beware the doughnuts are hollow and if really bitten into, they will "dent".

Fun but requires some fine tuning 2 Jan. 2008

This is an overall good product. The frosting cannot be flipped over as other reviewers have noted.. however - we still play a simple matching game where I make a donut and ask my 2 year old to make the same one - same base and same frosting. She enjoys this but gets bored with it after a few times. She likes to mix and match the donuts. As noted, the box that it comes in is basically trash. It is a one time use for a two year old. If you are looking for a matching game - maybe consider another product. If you are looking for a versatile food item that will produce hours of fun but dont expect a lot of educational value - this is a great product.

Very low quality for learning resources! 27 Sept. 2012
By LisaMB - Published on Amazon.com
Durability:    Educational:    Fun:
Let me start by saying: We are big fans of learning resources toys. BUT, this product is very poorly made! The box is complete garbage, it is such thin cardboard it literally went directly into the recycling pile. The tops to the donuts don't all stay on anymore either so when you turn them upside down to play the game the top falls off. These ended up in our "toy food" bin and have barely been played with. I am disappointed because I usually love this brand so much. In this case I think buying the Melissa and Doug Donuts would have been a better buy.
